Shoesday //

Tuesday, 8 October 2013

Happy Shoesday Tuesday! Today I thought I'd share with you some of the gorgeous shoes I've been coveting lately. I spent about two hours on the Tory Burch website last night humming and hawing over their boots and their flats trying to decide if I should bite the bullet and order them, I did end up making a couple purchases but unfortunately nothing for me (that's right Christmas shopping has begun). Also how amazing are those GAP flats, and definitely budget friendly. There's nothing like a good pair of shoes to lift a girls spirits mid-week, happy Shoesday!!

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful Tuesday!

Quinoa Salad //

Wednesday, 11 September 2013

Even though it is the middle of September, we are still having summer weather here in Vancouver, so why not indulge in a delicious fresh summer salad. I actually got the recipe for this from my sister which she sniped from cactus club! Either way, it is so yummy I had to share!

All you have to do is chop up the carrots, peas, red pepper, mint, basil and dates, cook the quinoa as per usual (one cup quinoa to two cups water), saute the shrimp in a bit of garlic and butter, let the quinoa and shrimp cool in the fridge, then toss everything together with the crumbled feta, drizzle some olive oil and balsamic and you're good to go! I added some toasted french bread and sliced avocado as well which made the dish absolutely perfect! Super easy and super healthy - enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Wednesday.

We're Engaged! //

Tuesday, 3 September 2013

All set up and ready to go for our loving guests.

We started the night off in right Mexican fashion with some chilled shots of Patron.

I had decided to get Danny a little something to remember our engagement (he said yes).

I asked my girlfriends and sisters to be my bridesmaids with little bottles of pink champagne and an adorable printable from The Wedding Chicks.

The night ended with well, that.

We had an AMAZING time. All of our friends and family made the night magical for us and we couldn't have asked for a better evening.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful Tuesday.

Back To School Essentials //

Thursday, 29 August 2013

Every time fall rolls around I get SO excited for back to school (even if I'm not actually going back). This fall I in fact will be taking a few university courses to try and finish up my marketing certificate. So I decided I need to pick up a few necessities before heading back. I picked up number three last week to use as a book bag - I'm loving the navy stripes and brown leather detail, should go well with my fall looks. I would also probably die without number two, the Sarah Pinto agenda, not only is it super cute but I literally write everything in it. In highschool I learned quickly the importance of an agenda and eventually lived life according to what was written in that book. Four, five, and six are for pure comfort. I know we all get excited when back to school hits and want to dress up everyday, but let me tell you, that fades fast and before you know it you're reaching for your comfiest pants, flattest shoes, and something to hide the hair you were too lazy to style. Seven are for pure delight and eight are what I think the perfect frame for fall - loving the tortoise! Are you heading back to school this fall? What's on your wishlist?

1. Tory Burch Robinson iPad Case $95
2. Sarah Pinto Agenda $20
3.
4. HM Sweatpants $19.95
5. Urban Outfitters Coal Scotty Beanie $34
6. HM Ballet Flats $12.95
7. Letter C Design White Pencils with Gold Foil Heart $8.08
8. Dolce and Gabbana Havana Frames $199

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Thursday!

Berry Accents For Fall //

Wednesday, 28 August 2013

Is it actually August 28th today?! As I type this it is down pouring rain outside and I am bundled up in a scarf watching 'comedy gold', sipping hot tea and soothing a sore throat. It's definite that summer is coming to a close and fall is fast approaching. As sad as it is to see the summer fun fade away, I've always loved that feeling of transitioning into fall - back to school, falling leaves, Thanksgiving, and all of the other exciting fall events. Don't get me wrong I adore all seasons of fashion, but I think I'm not alone when I say that fall takes the cake. The fall months are perfect for layering and mixing in colours that you probably haven't worn in close to a year. This season I am all about the berry. I love a good berry accent in a fall ensemble and these nine are some of my favourites you can mix into your everyday fall looks.

DIY Floral Monogram //

Tuesday, 27 August 2013

The other day I was browsing  and came across an image linking to this post. I fell in love with this DIY and immediately had to have my own floral monogram for my office. For my floral initial I actually didn't use the pre-made cardboard initials as in the original post, I simply took an old cardboard box, cut the pieces I needed and glued them together. I also sprayed the cardboard gold before assembling my flowers. It was such a fun afternoon project and I'm so in love with the final result! Happy monogramming!

My Top Cosmetic Bags //

Wednesday, 14 August 2013

It seems like I've been on the hunt forever to find a new cosmetic bag to take with me on weekend getaways and vacations. I've had the same atrocious shiny purple hanging cosmetic roll for years now and for some reason it has yet to be replaced. Definitely when I head to Hawaii in November one of these adorable pouches will be coming along with me. I'm loving the simplicity of these six, especially the pop of pink Kate Spade case and the oh so cute 'little brown cosmetic' Bloomingdales pouch!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Wednesday!

It is such a beautiful friday here in Vancouver! We really are a different city when the sun is out. Everyone is out walking, smiling, waving at neighbours, it's splendid. This beautiful sun has got me prepping for summer with white sarongs, loose fitting tees, and the perfect dash of sparkle.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful Friday!

Pretty Prints //

Tuesday, 30 April 2013

There's nothing quite like a good print to brighten up a space. If you are like me and are either a student or simply on a budget, a beautiful print is the perfect alternative to original art which can be a little on the expensive side. I've acquired quite a few prints over the years and I've had so much fun styling them and rearranging them in various places around my house. Unfortunately I have under a month in my apartment left and will be heading back to good old mom n' dads. However once Danny and I find a home to buy, one of my home decor dreams is to create an art wall; a statement wall dedicated to complementary pieces, a mix of abstract art and adorable prints such as these. Which print is your favourite?

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday.

Dr. Oz 3 Day Juice Cleanse Review //

Monday, 29 April 2013

I feel like it's been forever since I made a blog post (maybe cause it has). However exams are over and I'm hoping to jump back on the blogging train! During my stint off blogging I had decided to try doing the Dr. Oz three day juice cleanse, which you can see HERE. I had never done a cleanse before and didn't really know what to expect. I decided to go with the Dr. Oz cleanse because A. I would still be consuming lots of nutrients and actual food (just in blended form) and B. because it's only a three day cleanse and I was confident I could complete it. I started the cleanse on a Monday, and if you are considering doing a cleanse I highly recommend starting on a Monday because you really feel like you're getting a good start to your week and you feel fresh and ready to take on anything. I won't go on too much because I pretty much summed up everything in the video (which is super long, sorry!!). The last thing I'll say is if you are considering doing a cleanse, I highly recommend the Dr. Oz three day juice cleanse, because you are gettings lots of vital nutrients, it is only three days, and it's pretty inexpensive to do compared to other juice cleanses out there! I hope you enjoy the video and if you've ever done the cleanse let me know how your experience was, or if you are considering doing the cleanse and have some questions, ask away!

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful Monday!

Monday, 18 March 2013

Happy Monday!! If you haven't already heard, I started a YouTube!! I am so very excited about it, and last week I posted my first video. After my first post which you can see , I had a couple lovely ladies enquiring about how I did my hair, so I thought I would put together a little something to show you all how I got that look! So here it is, the perfect blow out! I really hope you love my youtube posts, and please let me know what you like/don't like and what sorts of videos you would prefer to see! Also if you don't mind hitting that subscribe button, it would just mean the world to me.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful Monday!

The Lust List //

Friday, 15 March 2013

It's Friday!!! This week seemed to go by super fast, and it's strange because I had all week off with really not much to do. By the way excuse my lack of posts this week, my poor little Macbook was in the shop, only to find that my warranty is void because of a drop of water in the back, hmpf, silly Apple. Oh well, it's the weekend!! I got paid yesterday so I think some shopping is definitely in order. I went to buy number 5 yesterday but the only size 6's they had were all scuffed and gross but good thing you can order online now! I think I shall order a fresh, clean pair! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful Friday!

White & Gold For the Home //

Wednesday, 6 March 2013

When I first moved into my apartment, the idea of decorating the whole space was daunting. I can get easily stressed so if something wasn't looking the way I wanted it to right away, steam would start coming out of my ears. I have since learned that decor takes time, gather your thoughts, have a colour concept in mind, and focus on one room at a time. Soon I will be moving back home for a little bit to both find and save money for a house, but that definitely doesn't stop me from planning out my home decor for my future house! There's nothing like a crisp white space with just a touch of gold, this will definitely be a main trend in my soon to be home.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful Wednesday!

Nude Nails For Spring //

Tuesday, 5 March 2013

This Spring, it's all about looking natural; natural brows, natural hair, and natural nails. I'm head over heels for this look, it's so crisp and fresh for Spring (I also love any excuse to not have to do my hair). I've been testing out some nude polishes to go with the natural trend and these are some of my favs. I am also completely smitten with the look of adding just a dash of sparkle to your nude nails, just above the cuticle is simply perfect!

Trend Spotting: Flamingo //

Monday, 4 March 2013

I am such a sucker for pink. When I was growing up my walls were plastered a sugar-sweet bubble gum pink, and even now, as I'm writing this, I'm looking at both my pink agenda and pink iPhone case, some things really never get old! I have been seeing flamingo inspiration everywhere, and it is oh so fabulous for Spring. I'm excited to test out this trend in the upcoming sunny days, both flamingo print and flamingo pink add the perfect punch to any outfit. What spring trends are you excited to try?

What better excuse than a Friday to go shopping?! Plus I had a super bad day yesterday so I think some retail therapy is definitely in order.

Take Me To Spring //

Tuesday, 26 February 2013

Happy Tuesday! Have I mentioned that I'm beyond excited for Spring yet? Yes, I totally have. I know it's still February but hey, a girl can dream! I love waking up to the birds chirping and sun rays beaming on my face through the window, oh and spring fashions of course. One of the biggest trends that hit both the runways and the streets for Spring is the military trend. I am loving the look of just a touch of camo print (whoever thought that would come back?!), or a splash of army green. Which is why I am head over heals for this perfect 'transition to spring' outfit. Combining a hint of all my favourites; army green, leather, cobalt and rhinestones.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful Tuesday!

Cake Batter Cookies //

Monday, 25 February 2013

When I was a little girl, I had the biggest sweet tooth. I used to love being in the kitchen with my mom, helping her bake cookies, cake, really anything with sugar. Some of my first baking experiences included creating a delicious masterpiece out of a box, so these cake batter cookies were the perfect trip down memory lane. If you are like me and while growing up enjoyed your fair share of confetti filled, boxed cakes and cupcakes, you are going to fall in love with these.

I followed this recipe to make these little delights. My only piece of advice would be to ensure your cookies are well spaced (they spread quite a bit), and I decreased the baking time to nine minutes as my first batch were a little too crisp. Pair with a cold glass of milk and a fun straw.

And congratulations to entry number 13, Mae! You are the winner of the SS Print Shop Giveaway!

It's Friday!! Time to go shopping! Usually throughout the week I'll spend a little.. okay a lot of time browsing online shops and searching out lust-worthy items. Hair Trends to Try this Spring //

Thursday, 21 February 2013

I came home from work today and immediately put on one of Danny's sweaters, made a hot cup of tea and turned on the fireplace. There is no doubt it's still Winter in Vancouver, it's cold, and today is no exception. Even though it's dreary and wintery outside, I have my mind set on sun and Spring! I spent all last night browsing Spring trends and getting super excited for the warmer days to come. I can't wait for Spring florals, sun-kissed skin and easy, slouchy spring hair. The deep side part is one Spring hair trend I'm excited to try, super easy, feminine and fun.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful Thursday.

Sweet Potato Chips //

Wednesday, 20 February 2013

My days off normally consist of sending out shipments, instagramming way too many photos and spending more time than usual browsing . Yesterday while doing the usual, I stumbled across this recipe for homemade baked sweet potato chips, a (somewhat) healthier alternative to regular bagged potato chips. I followed , and they were super simple and more importantly very yummy.

Danny and I enjoyed these while relaxing on the couch. They would also be perfect with a crisp, cold beer.

Enjoy!

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful Wednesday.

Springtime Sunnies //

Tuesday, 19 February 2013

This morning I had to go with Danny(oh yes, you'll probably hear of him lots, he's my darling boyfriend with whom I live) to pick up some supplies for his company. I dropped him off, hopped around to the front seat and was on my way. However, in that moment that I stepped outside I had a wonderful 'ah hah' moment, if you've never had an 'ah hah' moment, it's wonderful, and I'm sure you will soon. Either way, in that single moment, the sun was shining(a rarity in Vancouver), the birds were chirping(another rarity), and for that single moment I was happy and peaceful. It was a moment of bliss and it gave me a sense of excitement that Spring is just around the corner. Seeing as sun is so rare in our city, this Spring I will be taking every opportunity to shield my eyes with the perfect pair of sunnies. Numbers two and three are sunnies that I currently own and love dearly, one and four are on the wish list.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful Tuesday.
