Cake For Breakfast Valentines Shoot //

Monday, 26 January 2015

I am so excited to introduce to you not only our new sweet little heart tee but Cake For Breakfast bébé as well! I have been wanting to do children's tees for some time now and thought what better time than Valentines to launch it! Now moms can match their CFB tee with their sweet babes - so adorable! I had so much fun shooting the new tees with these little munchkins (my niece and nephew). It took a lot of bribing and some heart shaped suckers but we did it!

Party Like It's 1925 //

Wednesday, 21 January 2015

When I first started to plan my big 25th only one idea came to mind - GATSBY! I find the 1920s so whimsical and so easy to get swept away in so I knew the theme would be perfect. I decided to stick with a black and gold colour scheme and basically went from there. I pulled a lot of inspiration from Pinterest - see my inspo board . I normally get very (I mean very) stressed when planning such events but I stayed super organized and ended up having so much fun putting this together. I hope you enjoy this little glimpse into our speakeasy! ;)
This cake topper from Confetti and Sparkle Party Shop was a must! Cindy was so sweet even sprayed it gold to match the theme!

This black and gold polka dot cake by Anna Elizabeth Cakes was absolutely STUNNING as the main focus of the dessert table. If you haven't tried sweets from Anna Elizabeth yet, I highly recommend them - so delicious and such sweet packaging!

Black and white striped popcorn cartons ordered  and filled with Chicago popcorn mix - to die for!

I took photos of my friends and made them into 1920s wanted posters. They were SO funny and everyone loved theirs. People were wanted for everything from breaking prohibition laws, gambling, and brothel activity ha!! I also got to channel my inner 10 year old while aging and burning the paper ala a grade five school project ;)

I reused one of our homemade chalkboards from our wedding to fit our 1920s theme.

Vanilla chai cupcakes from Anna Elizabeth Cakes - these were not only delicious but looked amazing on our dessert table (complete with same polka dot fondant as the cake).

1920s/Great Gatsby themed cookies by The Whisk - such a hit and so yummy!

I had prints made with quotes from The Great Gatsby or writers from that time and displayed them around the room. This is one of my favorite lines from the movie. PS those lollipops are also vanilla vodka infused.. I know.. find the recipe here!

I created our very own Photo Booth by hanging a sequin tablecloth and curtains - everyone loved this! My sister brought her selfie stick along so needless to say we got some pretty interesting group shots!

A 1920s inspired bar complete with whiskey, champagne, vintage champagne coups and gorgeous blooms from The Flower Factory. I also taped some champagne coloured balloons cascading up the wall as if champagne bubbles! I found the idea on .

We had the Great Gatsby playing alongside the bar all night.

This Ferrero Rocher tower was so beautiful in the centre of the room and was such hit!

This gold heart print by Kardz Kouture fit in perfectly!

I picked up some supplies from Michaels and made some Great Gatsby inspired headbands for the girls!

Every big milestone deserves gorgeous balloons from Confetti and Sparkle Party Shop!

Birthday Wishlist //

Monday, 12 January 2015

This Saturday is my TWENTY-FIFTH birthday (omg I'm a quarter of a century). This no doubt is a major milestone, and my theory is, the bigger the milestone, the bigger the gifts ;) Hey! There's nothing wrong with getting a little spoiled - it's only one day a year after all! So I've put together a little list of items I've been craving, and since Danny and I are saving for a house we've been on a strict spending budget so trust me when I say I've thought long and hard about the gifts I would savor! Here are just some of my absolute favs. I've also been  some other wants so be sure to follow along on  for everything I've been loving!

Scandinavian Home //

Friday, 9 January 2015

Lately I've been falling more and more in love with scandinavian decor and interiors. I also now follow  on pinterest so I blame her for all this fabulousness! I love how laid back everything is and all those neutrals - I just can't. While browsing I stumbled upon this gorgeous Tom Dixon Pendant and obviously fell in love (check out how it's styled ), but I have to admit the price tag is a little steep, luckily Target carries a super similar one for half the price! I'm also head over heels for that brilliant bamboo shower caddy complete with wine glass holder - HELLO!

I didn't include an image in the post but while searching I also found an amazing boho pillow shop and stumbled upon this little beauty that would fit in perfectly with this decor!

Don't forget to follow us on  for more home decor inspo!

Isn't it great how Vancouver has green grass and sunshine in the middle of winter?! Personally, I hate it, and wish it would snow but it doesn't look like that will happen anytime soon. My birthday is coming up in just under two weeks and I seriously don't remember a birthday I've had with no snow. Normally we have even just a few flakes on the ground! It was so hilarious on the news the other day all they talked about was this severe winter storm coming and to get prepared.. all it was was rain.. nothing out of the ordinary.. must have been a slow news day! I definitely envy seeing all these bloggers' posts from Calgary and Toronto with their gorgeous snowy shoots and we're lucky if we can catch a rainless day to get a couple snaps in! On another note, I am totally head over heels for the blanket scarf trend and this one is fab! It was gifted to me and doesn't have a tag! So i've linked to a gorgeous leopard one that I am dying for (and a few others) - happy shopping!
